This charming, calm retreat is just 7km from the UNESCO World Heritage medieval village of St Emilion, providing the perfect spot to relax and explore the many pretty villages and historic towns of the area while indulging in wine tastings at the most iconic Chateaux. Built in 1602, it was formerly Chateau La Mouleyre (St Emilion Grand Cru) until the vines were sold to the neighboring Chateau Faugeres, and the house, barn, chais (wine aging cellar), and grounds were purchased in 2008. Renovated sympathetically to retain its original charm, this beautiful country retreat showcases its 17th-century origins. La Mouleyre is a fine stone structure furnished with an uncompromising approach to comfort and luxury. The spacious and elegant interior allows guests to be as social or as private as they wish. There are 6 bedrooms, 6 bathrooms, and 4 reception areas offering comfort for friends or multi-generational families. Rooms are inviting and calm, with contemporary art and lighting adding sleek interest. One of the standout features is an epicurean’s gourmet kitchen featuring luxury décor and professional appliances. The ground floor features marble floors, underfloor heating, and beautiful old beams. Bedroom 6 is accessed through the Ivory Room and features a double bed and single bed, forming a good family suite with the Ivory Room. The large barn serves as an indoor play area with a wood-burning fire and is used as a games room (ping pong, darts, chess, foosball), with boules, bikes, balls, pool equipment, pool towels, and pool games available.
